Get to know Counting House

Counting House is an outsourced accounting service provider specializing in the Christian church and ministries sector. Our vision is to ensure these ministries function optimally in regard to their finances and focus on the mission of Christ. With the help of technology, we are able to serve large and small churches across the country in a variety of settings and cultures.

OWNERS

The Mrosko family purchased Counting House in July of 2025 with the intention of continuing Sandy’s legacy. Church and camp ministries have been a passion for their family for many years, and they want to continue helping these organizations develop and maintain strong financial positions and processes to continue ministry in their communities and around the world.

Jacob Mrosko

Jacob has a Bachelor of Business Management, Administration, and Leadership degree from the University of St. Thomas, and earned a graduate certificate in Data Analytics, all while playing college baseball. His interpersonal and leadership skills, along with perseverance and flexibility will benefit Counting House in working with clients and managing accounts.

  • Mike Mrosko

    Mike has degrees in Accounting and Business Administration and has worked in corporate and non-profit organizations throughout his career. He passed both the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exams. In addition, he has held various finance and ministry leadership positions in the church since 1996.

  • Jaci Mrosko

    Jaci has a background in education but has been on staff and in teaching and leadership positions in both local and para-church ministries for many years. She has a heart for the local church and missions and brings her organization and communication skills to the Counting House business.

  • Rachel Mrosko

    Rachel is a middle and high school band director but has always had an affinity for math, finance, organization, and has a strong work ethic. She has a heart for youth and youth ministry, and has taught Sunday School and worked at Covenant Pines Bible Camp.

  • Kristen Smith

    ACCOUNTANT

    Kristen has an accounting degree from the University of Minnesota and has worked in both internal audit and public accounting. She began working for Counting House in 2012 and lives in Minneapolis with her husband and son, and also has two adult daughters.

  • Karen Wahlstrom

    ACCOUNTANT

    Karen has degrees from Bethel University and Seminary and has worked in both nonprofit and for-profit businesses for over 40 years, including 10 with Counting House. She enjoys walking, reading, quilting and crocheting in her free time.

  • Linda Howitz

    ACCOUNTANT

    Linda has worked in the accounting field for over 20 years, including three with Counting House. She and her husband, Mark, have been married for 28 years and have two daughters and a son-in-law.

Sandy Norris

Sandy Norris

FOUNDER

Sandy has degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, and Theological Studies and was ordained by the Evangelical Covenant Church in 1988. She founded Counting House in 2007, and the business has only grown since then. In 2024 she began to consider retirement along with her husband and decided to sell the majority of the business to the Mrosko Family and is continuing to support the transition. Sandy and her husband live north of St. Paul and are parents of an adult daughter.
